Literary Graffiti

What happens when you cross literature and graffiti? Amazing artwork. Now, I don't condone the defacement of public or private property, but if given the choice, I'd rather see beautiful and meaningful artwork over gang signs.

Below are photos of some literature-related artwork that graffiti artists have created around the world. I'm in awe!

1. Alice's Adventures In Wonderland by Lewis Carroll.  (London, England)

2. Charles Dickens. (South Bank, London)

3. Generation of Swine by Hunter S. Thompson. (Brooklyn, NY)

4. Samuel Beckett. (Camden, London)

5. Animal Farm by George Orwell. (Singapore)

6. Catch–22 by Joseph Heller. (Copenhagen, Denmark)

7. Timequake by Kurt Vonnegut. (Melbourne, Australia)

8. 1984 by George Orwell. (Swansea, Wales)

9. Watership Down by Richard Adams. (Virginia, US)

10. The Marriage Of Heaven And Hell by William Blake. (Sydney, Australia)

11. Voltaire. (Prague, Czech Republic)

12. Life doesn’t frighten me by Maya Angelou. (London, UK)

13. The Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R. Tolkien

14.  The Night Torn Mad With Footsteps by Charles Bukowski. (Tbilisi, Georgia)

15. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J.K. Rowling.

The entire first chapter written on a school bathroom stall!
